Culadasa (John Yates, PhD) Bio

Culadasa was the director of Dharma Treasure Buddhist Sangha in Tucson, Arizona and wroteThe Mind Illuminated: A Complete Meditation Guide Using Buddhist Wisdom and Brain Science. He’s a meditation master with over 40 years of experience practicing and teaching in the Tibetan and Theravada traditions. His teachers included Upasaka Kema Ananda and the Venerable Jotidhamma Bhikkhu. Culadasa has also taught and worked in the fields of neuroscience, physiology, and healthcare education. He combines an understanding of ancient techniques with modern scientific research.
